Innovation Senior Management’s (ISM) Response to COVID-19
Since late March, ISM has been working to ensure that we are prepared for COVID-19 across all of our six communities in Florida. Our top priorities remain the health and safety of our residents and staff. We are working hard to continue to identify and prioritize ways to do more. This page includes what we hope to be helpful information about ISM’s communities and our response to COVID-19.

Dear residents and families,
As you may well be aware, the visitation ban has been extended for another 60 days. We were hopeful that the ban and other restrictions would end today. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The Governor just extended the State of Emergency, but we want to make sure you understand the Governor’s action was not specifically intended to extend the visitation ban. At this point, we do not know how long the visitation ban will last. The effective date for the visitation ban is linked to the Governor’s declaration of a state of emergency. This is done for the sake of efficiency, because other state and federal waivers, agency emergency orders, increased funding allotments, etc. related to the state of emergency are also affected, and the extension is a procedural necessity.
Our industry organizations continue to be in contact with AHCA leadership regarding potential options for visitation, personal services, dining and recreation. Additionally, CMS and the CDC have issued guidelines for reopening, so hopefully if visitation is still prohibited, the state will look to the federal guidelines as a good barometer for how Florida will handle reopening visitation. We thought that the visitation ban would be lifted by now, but with the increased numbers of COVID positive throughout the state, we think the visitation idea was put on hold until the numbers stabilize.
We feel your pain and we know how worn out and frustrated you are at this point.

Dear families and residents,
Our communities are in the process of receiving their test kits and some have already started the process of training, collecting and sending in their samples. The staff is excited about the initiative because it will give them and us some peace of mind every two weeks. At each community we are using the test collection as a time to unite and celebrate our work, team mates and life. I am very thankful to each and every employee that comes to work to care for our residents.

Dear families and residents,
On June 15, Florida issued state-wide rule that nursing homes and assisted living facilities must test all staff for COVID-19 every two weeks using state-provided testing. This testing is provided through a self-collected oral fluid sample test provided by Curative Inc. Our communities are in the process of receiving their test kits and will start the process of regular testing of all staff starting July 7th, 2020. Although this will be a large initiative for all communities, it will give us a baseline by which we can continue to monitor safely and regularly.
